New York City – In a move that perfectly illustrates the radical left’s disconnect from reality, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani chose a March “street safety” press conference to double down on his demand to abolish ICE, labeling the agency “rogue,” “reckless,” and claiming it “delivers nothing toward the furthering of the cause of public safety.”
At the very moment families mourn an 83-year-old Air Force veteran senselessly murdered by an illegal alien who had been deported four times, Mamdani was busy signaling to criminal invaders that New York remains a sanctuary from federal law enforcement.
The victim, Richard Williams, was shoved from a subway platform onto the tracks at Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station on March 8. He succumbed to his injuries on March 17. The alleged killer? 34-year-old Honduran national Bairon Posada-Hernandez – a career criminal with a lengthy rap sheet who had been booted from the United States four separate times yet was roaming free thanks to sanctuary policies that prioritize illegal aliens over American lives.
This is not an isolated tragedy. New York’s sanctuary status has repeatedly allowed dangerous criminals – including MS-13 gang members and convicted murderers – to prey on law-abiding citizens while ICE’s hands are tied by local politicians. Yet Mayor Mamdani, instead of vowing to protect New Yorkers, is pushing the same open-border extremism that has already cost innocent lives.
Mamdani has also thrown his support behind “No Kings” protests aimed at the Trump administration, framing them as a fight for “decency, dignity and humanity” while insisting “ICE has no place in our city.” His words reveal a worldview that sees American sovereignty and the rule of law as obstacles rather than safeguards for our communities.
For pro-family, pro-life, faith-based conservatives who cherish the God-given right to live securely in our own nation, this is unacceptable. Our veterans – men like Richard Williams who served this exceptional republic – deserve better than to be sacrificed on the altar of radical ideology. Hardworking American families in Nevada and across the heartland understand that secure borders and strong enforcement are not optional; they are essential to preserving the safety, prosperity, and constitutional order that make America the world’s last best hope.
President Trump’s administration is delivering the tough, common-sense enforcement that voters demanded. ICE exists to remove threats like four-time deportees and gang members – exactly the work Mamdani wants to eliminate. While radical mayors virtue-signal, real leaders are putting American citizens first.
The contrast could not be clearer: Conservatives stand with law-abiding families, veterans, and the rule of law. The left stands with criminals who should never have been here in the first place.
It’s time for every patriot to reject this dangerous nonsense. Secure borders save lives. Enforcing our immigration laws is not “reckless” – it is righteous.
