Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is done with excuses and half-measures. In a blistering call to action, the Florida congresswoman is demanding primary challenges against Senate Republicans who continue to shield the SAVE America Act behind procedural dodges, procedural excuses, and the so-called “talking filibuster”—all while the bill enjoys massive bipartisan public support for requiring proof of U.S. citizenship and voter ID in federal elections.
Luna’s latest salvo comes as the SAVE America Act—already passed by the House and backed by President Trump as his top legislative priority—remains stalled in the Senate. Despite overwhelming polls showing 70-80% of Americans, including majorities across party lines, favoring these common-sense safeguards to prevent non-citizen voting and restore trust in our elections, Senate Majority Leader John Thune and several RINOs appear content to let it languish rather than force real debate or rule changes.
On X and in recent interviews, Luna pulled no punches: she urged President Trump to withhold endorsements for any more Senate candidates until they “do their jobs” and pass the bill with a genuine talking filibuster if necessary. She blasted the Senate for “hiding” and declared that “EVERY SINGLE SENATOR that is HIDING BEHIND THE TALKING FILIBUSTER needs to be PRIMARIED by one of the House members with a spine.”
The stakes couldn’t be higher. The SAVE America Act mandates documented proof of citizenship for federal voter registration, nationwide photo ID (with limited exceptions), restricted mail-in voting to verifiable needs like illness or military service, and stronger state verification of voter rolls using federal tools. These aren’t radical ideas—they’re basic protections to ensure only American citizens shape America’s future, safeguarding the constitutional republic our Founders envisioned.
Yet Democrats remain united in opposition, labeling it “voter suppression” while ignoring the real suppression: diluting citizen votes through lax rules that invite fraud. Some Senate Republicans, fearing backlash or preferring show votes over victory, are enabling the stall. Luna isn’t having it. She’s threatening a House blockade of Senate legislation until the upper chamber acts, echoing ultimatums from other House conservatives who vow to grind business to a halt.
Even more boldly, Luna is calling for a Convention of States under Article V—a powerful, constitutional mechanism for the people to bypass a broken D.C. uniparty. With resolutions already passed in over 20 states, only 14 more are needed to force Congress to convene and consider amendments for term limits, fiscal restraints, and election integrity reforms that entrenched politicians will never self-impose.
This isn’t just about one bill—it’s about reclaiming power from special interests, swamp creatures, and those who talk conservatism but fold when it counts. Luna’s stand reminds us that true leaders fight for the principles that make America exceptional: self-governance, citizenship’s sacred value, and elections decided by We the People, not outsiders or fraud.
