LAS VEGAS (TNVC News) — While U.S. military enlistments have reached impressive highs under strong leadership that honors our warriors and restores national pride, the Selective Service System is preparing to streamline its process by automatically registering eligible young men for the military draft pool beginning in December 2026.
This change, mandated by the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2026 signed into law by President Donald Trump in December 2025, shifts responsibility from individual young men to the federal agency. Starting next December, male U.S. citizens and other eligible males ages 18 to 26 will be automatically added to the registry — typically within 30 days of their 18th birthday — through integration with federal data sources. The move aims to eliminate gaps where millions previously forgot or failed to self-register, while saving taxpayer dollars and creating a more complete pool should a national emergency ever require a draft.

No one should misread this as a return to conscription. America has relied on an all-volunteer force since 1973, and recent recruiting successes prove that when our military is respected, properly funded, and focused on defending our Republic rather than social experiments, good men still step forward. In fiscal year 2025, the Army exceeded its goal with over 62,000 new recruits, and other branches met or surpassed targets — a dramatic turnaround from the shortfalls of prior years caused by woke policies that alienated traditional patriots.
This automatic registration underscores a timeless truth: a strong national defense is the bedrock of our Constitutional Republic. Young men raised with traditional values — duty, honor, God, and country — have always formed the backbone of America’s fighting forces. In rural Nevada communities, on family ranches, and in tight-knit churches, we teach our sons that protecting liberty is a sacred responsibility, not a burden imposed by Washington bureaucrats.

Yet we remain vigilant. The left has long sought to weaken our military through radical agendas that prioritize diversity quotas over combat readiness and erode the warrior ethos that made America the world’s last best hope. Automatic registration simply ensures the system works efficiently without penalizing forgotten paperwork — but it also reminds us why we must elect leaders who keep our armed forces lethal, apolitical, and focused on defeating real enemies abroad rather than policing thought at home.
We celebrate every young man who voluntarily answers the call to serve. Their willingness to defend our borders, our Constitution, and our way of life reflects the exceptional character that sets this nation apart. Families should view this registration as one more reason to instill in our sons the virtues of courage, self-reliance, and unwavering patriotism.
The Selective Service change takes effect in December unless further delayed. In the meantime, our military continues recruiting “a few good men” — and thanks to restored respect for the uniform, they are answering in growing numbers.
America’s greatness depends on strong families raising strong sons willing to stand in the gap. Let us continue praying for our troops, supporting our veterans, and ensuring that any registry or draft mechanism always serves the cause of liberty under God.
