The Henderson mayoral race is heating up following the March 13 filing deadline, drawing five candidates to compete for leadership of Nevada’s second-largest city—one known for its family-friendly neighborhoods, strong public safety record, and resistance to the overreach seen in bigger urban areas.
Incumbent Mayor Michelle Romero, who has led since 2023 after winning outright in 2022, is seeking another term. Her tenure has emphasized Henderson’s status as one of America’s safest cities, with a focus on responsible governance and community priorities. Yet, she’s faced criticism over internal city hall tensions, including disputes with council members and the police union—issues that have fueled calls for fresh direction.

Challenging her are four others, creating a crowded primary field where voters will decide who best upholds traditional values, fiscal restraint, law and order, and pro-family policies that keep Henderson thriving as a beacon of suburban conservatism in Southern Nevada.
Among the contenders is Hollie Chadwick, the former Henderson Police Chief (fired last year), who promises greater transparency and community access to city meetings. Chadwick’s law enforcement background could resonate with voters prioritizing public safety and backing the blue—key conservative touchstones in a city that values order and security for families.
Adam Price, chairman of the Henderson Democratic Club and an estate planner, brings a left-leaning perspective, criticizing city drama and pushing for more intervention in issues like school district challenges. His entry highlights the partisan divide, as conservatives watch closely to prevent progressive policies from creeping into local leadership and undermining parental rights, school choice, and limited government.
Rounding out the field are Andrew “Your Boy Rue” Ramirez, a former comedian and recent transplant who wants to diversify the economy away from Las Vegas dependence by attracting tech businesses, and Angeles Scorsetti, a celebrity interior designer and CEO. While their platforms vary, the race underscores the importance of nominating leaders committed to constitutional principles, economic freedom, and protecting the American dream for Henderson families.
With the primary set for June 9, 2026 (early voting May 23–June 5), and a potential general election on November 3 if no candidate tops 50%, Henderson voters have a clear choice: continue steady, proven leadership or risk experimentation that could mirror the failures of big-government liberalism elsewhere. Conservatives must stay vigilant, support candidates who champion life, liberty, lower taxes, and strong borders at every level—because local races like this one shape the frontline defense of our values.
Henderson deserves a mayor who fights for hardworking families, backs law enforcement without apology, and keeps the city a shining example of what makes America exceptional. Prayerful discernment and active participation will ensure the right leader emerges.
