Washington, D.C. – How much waste, fraud, and abuse has been hidden for years inside Medicare and Medicaid? Thanks to the Trump administration’s no-nonsense approach, we are about to find out. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is set to unveil a bold new initiative today that puts real teeth into the fight against healthcare fraud, offering whistleblowers rewards of 10% to 30% of recovered fines – paid directly from penalties, not from hardworking taxpayers’ pockets.

With estimated annual losses exceeding $70 billion in Medicare and Medicaid fraud alone, this program targets stolen patient identities, fake billing schemes, “upcoding” that inflates claims, sham clinics, fraudulent food and housing programs, and the money laundering that funnels stolen dollars overseas or into luxury purchases. FinCEN is also directing banks to flag suspicious transactions tied to these scams, building on President Trump’s March 2025 executive order for zero tolerance on fraud and the anti-fraud task force led by Vice President JD Vance.
Recent scandals, such as the Minnesota network involving Somali immigrants that stole hundreds of millions through fake autism clinics and the infamous “Feeding Our Future” scheme that diverted $250 million meant for children’s meals into luxury cars and real estate, exposed how deep the rot runs. Funds meant to help the vulnerable were instead diverted – sometimes even linked to broader national security risks, including potential support for global terror.
A Treasury official put it plainly: “Our citizens have a right to know that their tax dollars are not being diverted to fund acts of global terror or to fund luxury cars for fraudsters.”

For faith-based families, pro-life advocates, constitutional conservatives, and pro-America patriots across Nevada and the heartland, this is welcome news. Every dollar stolen from Medicare and Medicaid drives up costs for honest seniors, working parents, and future generations while draining resources that could support real needs. The previous administration gutted fraud controls in the name of speed during COVID relief, leaving the door wide open for criminals. President Trump and his team are slamming it shut and demanding accountability.
This whistleblower program mirrors successful IRS efforts but focuses where the damage hits everyday Americans hardest – healthcare programs that millions of our citizens rely on. By empowering insiders to come forward without fear, the administration is sending a clear message: Fraud against the American people will no longer be tolerated. Recovered funds can lower costs, strengthen program integrity, and ensure tax dollars go to those who truly need help, not scammers living large on our dime.
True conservatives have always believed government must be a faithful steward of the people’s money. Wasteful spending and outright theft violate that sacred trust. America remains the world’s last best hope precisely because we reject the radical left’s culture of corruption and demand fiscal responsibility rooted in traditional values of honesty, hard work, and protecting the vulnerable.
Secretary Bessent’s initiative is another strong step in restoring that trust. As more fraud is uncovered and perpetrators are held accountable, families will see lower costs and stronger safety nets. Patriots should celebrate this crackdown and pray it delivers the sweeping reforms our constitutional republic deserves.
Secure our borders. Protect our elections. And now – guard every taxpayer dollar with vigilance. That is how we keep faith with the American people and preserve this exceptional nation for generations to come.
