In a story that hits close to home for any family-oriented Nevadan who knows the unconditional love a good dog brings, a 26-year-old woman was arrested earlier this month for abandoning her 2-year-old golden doodle at a JetBlue ticket counter inside Harry Reid International Airport.
Surveillance video released by Las Vegas Metro Police (LVMPD) captures the cold moment on February 2, 2026: Germiran Bryson walks up to the counter with the friendly pup, ties him to a pole, then to a luggage cart, and finally to the gate area before walking away in under 90 seconds—leaving the dog behind to board her flight alone.
The attempt failed when airline staff denied boarding due to missing proper documentation for traveling with the animal (she claimed it was a service dog, but paperwork wasn’t completed). When confronted, Bryson reportedly told officers the dog had a tracking device and could “find its way back”—a callous excuse that didn’t hold up.

LVMPD officers and airport staff immediately stepped in to care for the stressed golden doodle/mini poodle mix. Animal Protection Services took custody for the mandatory 10-day hold. When Bryson never returned to claim him, Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas answered the call.
Founder Danielle Roth described the scene: “He wasn’t just left there… we promised him he’ll never go through that again.” The rescue had him vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and up to date on health needs. Now nicknamed “Jet Blue,” he’s in foster care, full of energy, and ready for a stable, loving home that treats him like family—not disposable baggage.
Roth stressed the responsibility: “It’s a huge commitment… you’re basically bringing a child into your house. He’s already been abandoned once, so we’re taking extra steps to make sure it never happens again.”
The rescue has partnered with Dog Supply Outlet, which is donating a bag of food monthly for a year and letting Jet Blue pick out his favorite toys. Adoption applications are open, and Retriever Rescue is hosting an event to meet adoptable pets (including Jet Blue and about 14 others) from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, February 21, at Dawgs House on West Sahara.
Bryson faces misdemeanor charges of animal abandonment and resisting arrest (plus providing a false statement or obstructing an officer in some reports). She was released on her own recognizance and has a court hearing scheduled for March 31.
Stories like this remind us why accountability matters—under the law and in our daily lives. Pets aren’t accessories; they’re part of the family, entrusted to us as stewards of God’s creation. When someone walks away from that duty, it’s right that consequences follow, and it’s inspiring to see local heroes like Retriever Rescue step in to restore what was broken.
If you’re in the Las Vegas area and ready to open your home to a loyal companion who deserves better, reach out to Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas. Jet Blue—and families who value loyalty, responsibility, and compassion—could use good people like you.
