Capitol Hill (TNVC News)- Why and who is behind this push to decouple from our #1 partner in the Middle East?

DSA Alexandria Ocasio Cortez along with 100 Progressive Democrats have created a coalition of supporters in opposition to Israel and the Netanyahu administration. It all stems back to the October 7th murders of 1200 Jews along with 250 hostages taken in Gaza by Hamas. The Jews in retaliation to this unprecedented attack inside Israel defended themselves and their future as a people by taking military action against Hamas. The resulting war between Hamas, whose stated goal is the annihilation of the Jewish people, left Gaza in ruins. Israel for its part in defending itself against a genocidal attack on its homeland has been vilified by the national press and Progressive Democrats universally.
No doubt war is ugly and people die as a result of the struggle but for the nation that was attacked and defended itself to be called the aggressor is perplexing.

The people of Israel have long been the focus of antisemitism and ridicule. Even after reestablishing its ancestral homeland in 1948, each year it finds itself having to fight for its right to exist.
Now that struggle to exist is center stage once more as Democrats and DSA members are waging a political war against the Jewish State on the stage of public opinion.
Our history with Israel and Judaism is more than spiritual; it goes to the fight for our own nationhood.
Hayim Salomon, a Polish-born Jew, escaped Europe and came to America to start a new life. He quickly established himself as a financial trader and when the nation needed his services during the Revolutionary War he stood up even when the U.S. Congress didn’t or couldn’t.

Historians say that his funding at a pivotal point in the Revolutionary War may have swayed the outcome of the war for American Independence. Imagine if this one Jewish man who historians say gave massive amounts of money for the Revolutionary War effort, instead said “I can’t support these colonists, they don’t have a right to exist outside of the King’s wishes.” If he had turned his back on the war America most likely would not exist.
Forgotten Bonds: Faith, Freedom, and Strategic Partnership
This shameful vote by more than 100 House Democrats to strip military aid from Israel reveals a dangerous shift in the Democrat Party – one driven by radical progressives, Islamist influences, and foreign adversaries who seek to weaken America’s strongest ally in the Middle East.

Israel stands as the only true democracy in a region dominated by tyranny, terrorism, and theocratic oppression. As a faith-based, pro-family nation rooted in Judeo-Christian values, America shares profound spiritual ties with the Jewish people. The Bible itself records God’s covenant with Israel, a bond that has inspired generations of American Christians and conservatives who view the Jewish state as a fulfillment of prophecy and a frontline defender of Western civilization.
Beyond faith, Israel has been an indispensable partner in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism. From intelligence sharing that has thwarted attacks on American soil to joint operations against groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and their Iranian backers, Israel’s strength directly bolsters U.S. national security. In an era of rising threats from China and jihadist networks, abandoning Israel would be strategic suicide – handing victories to our enemies while emboldening those who chant “Death to America.”

The influences behind this push are clear. The growing presence of radical voices aligned with CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood within Democratic circles, coupled with socialist agitation from the DSA and figures like AOC, prioritizes anti-Western ideology over American interests. China, ever opportunistic, benefits from a fractured Middle East and a distracted America. These forces ignore the reality that Hamas started this war with barbaric atrocities on October 7th and uses civilians as human shields – tactics designed to generate the very images Progressives exploit to smear Israel.
Standing Firm for Our Ally and Our Principles
Conservatives understand that supporting Israel is not charity – it is a commitment to shared values, mutual defense, and the defense of freedom. America’s aid to Israel, much of which returns to U.S. defense contractors, strengthens our military readiness and deters aggression. Israel’s technological innovations in defense, cybersecurity, and medicine have saved American lives and bolstered our economy.

As Constitutionalists and Pro-America patriots, we reject the moral equivalence that equates a democratic nation defending its citizens with bloodthirsty terrorists sworn to Jewish annihilation. True peace will only come when Israel’s neighbors recognize its right to exist as a Jewish state – not through American weakness or betrayal.
The Republican Party remains steadfast in its support for Israel because we recognize that a strong Israel means a safer America. We must continue to counter this radical shift in the Democrat caucus with unapologetic backing for our ally. Our Judeo-Christian heritage, revolutionary history, and strategic necessities all point to one truth: Israel’s fight is America’s fight.
